Christine Fitzpatrick appointed chief of staff to the IUPUI executive vice chancellor

IUPUI Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer Nasser H. Paydar has announced the appointment of Christine Fitzpatrick as his chief of staff effective Feb. 1.
As chief of staff, Fitzpatrick will serve as an advisor to Paydar and as a member of the EVC’s cabinet and the IUPUI Deans Council. She will also assist with strategic planning and change management initiatives, budget and financial planning, and policy and program development for the campus on behalf of the EVC/CAO.
“Dr. Fitzpatrick’s experience, training, professionalism, and interpersonal style make her a great addition to the executive leadership team,” said Paydar. “She brings to this role extensive knowledge of IUPUI which prepares her to advise and represent this office on a wide range of operational and organizational initiatives.”
Previous responsibilities and experience for Fitzpatrick include coordinating and supporting IUPUI’s comprehensive campus strategic planning process, leading a number of community engagement activities at the Solution Center, working in the IU Office of the Vice President for Information Technology and UITS, and serving as an assistant dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI. Fitzpatrick has also served as an associate faculty member in the schools of Engineering and Technology, Informatics and Computing, and Education at IUPUI during her more than 30-year tenure.
Fitzpatrick received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in English from Ball State University and her doctoral degree in instructional systems technology from Indiana University Bloomington.
