Bantz-Petronio Translating Research into Practice Award
Feb. 12, 2013
IUPUI has made translating research into practice a signature part of its identity. This spring, Chancellor Charles R. Bantz and Professor Sandra Petronio will honor the work of IUPUI faculty who are making their mark on the community through interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary research and scholarship.
Bantz and Petronio, who have been guiding forces behind IUPUI’s commitment to turning discoveries into practical applications have launched the new Bantz-Petronio Translating Research Into Practice Faculty Award with a gift to the IUPUI Impact Campaign.
The award will recognize work that is focused on making an impact on people’s lives in Indiana and beyond. Each year’s recipient will have helped transform knowledge into practices or solutions, demonstrating innovative ways to improve the lives of people and the communities in which they live.
The IUPUI campus will be an active participant in selecting future recipients by nominating qualified individuals and highlighting the impact of the research work involved. The person selected will be announced each spring, with the deadline date for nominations due March 1 starting this year. The award will be presented this year at the IUPUI Chancellor’s Academic Honors Convocation in April.
