IUPUI social media launches first campus-wide scavenger hunt
Aug. 12, 2014
To kick off the start of the fall semester, students will get the chance to win big prizes by uncovering the most popular haunts on campus in the school’s first online scavenger hunt, as part of IUPUI’s annual Weeks of Welcome extravaganza.
On Aug. 24 to 26, 10 clues will be sent at various times over three days from the @IUPUI Twitter account, directing followers to a specific place, person or thing on campus. Hunters will be able to easily recognize the correct locations, which will be identifiable by a manned station with #IMAJAGUAR signage and free Jag swag provided by multiple IUPUI departments.
With IUPUI’s continued efforts to develop a dynamic and engaged community, the #IMAJAGUAR scavenger hunt will serve as an initiative to encourage primarily new students and student living on-campus to explore and discover their new college campus.
Students who participate will be eligible to win one of three grand prizes by snapping a photo of the correct location and posting it to social media (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) using the #IMAJAGUAR hashtag. Grand prize winners will be chosen from those who have snapped the most correct photos and have the opportunity to win:
- One semester of books provided by the IUPUI Bookstore. Students will rent books and must return at the end of the semester.
- Mini-meal plan package (includes ten meal swipes valid at the University Tower dining hall added to one Jagtag)
- An iPad mini from UITS
